Lonsec upgrades ECP Growth Companies Fund to Highly Recommended

Copia Investment Partners (Copia) today announced that Lonsec has upgraded its rating of the ECP Growth Companies Fund to “Highly Recommended”, its highest rating category.

The Fund is managed by Sydney-based ECP Asset Management (ECP) and offers investors a concentrated and benchmark-unaware exposure to Australian shares (typically 25 – 30 stocks). ECP is one of six investment managers distributed by Copia in the retail and financial advice channel.

The Fund’s investment approach is based on ECP’s institutional ‘All Cap’ investment strategy, which has returned 15.8% per annum (after fees) since inception in July 2012, 5.1% ahead of the S&P/ASX 300 Accumulation Index (as at 30 September 2021).

In its Report dated 27 September 2021, Lonsec concluded that ECP has a “strong performance track record of alpha generation from the underlying strategy against the Benchmark” and “the Manager (ECP) applies a detailed bottom-up fundamental research effort that is considered logical, repeatable and robust.”

John Clothier, Copia General Manager Distribution welcomed the Highly Recommended rating, noting that “we are delighted with Lonsec’s upgrade which demonstrates a high level of conviction in ECP as an investment manager. We believe there is a compelling case to consider ECP in the active Australian equity space, which is supported by a stable and experienced team, strong long-term performance and solid ratings.”

The Fund is currently listed on a range of platforms including BT Panorama, Netwealth, Praemium, HUB24, and Powerwrap.
